Last week I decided not to be a hermit and attended some events that would get me back into networking, because quite frankly I was not about it. But this year, I got time.
First the was the BYOB (Bring Your Own Brand) event held by WIPP, if you didn't know WIPP is lead by Bianca Harris, a dope Toronto MUA who's focus is to empower and connect women around Toronto. This event was all about branding and marking yourself or your brand. We were given half hour work shops by 3 amazing ladies: model and content creator Ruby Benson AKA @RagsxRuby, blogger/creative Vanessa Cesario AKA @vanessacesario_, and co-founder of 2Social Lauren Shirreffs AKA @laurenmarias. Each gave insightful advice on content creation, gauging and engaging your audience among other cool tidbits of information including apps to help with scheduling and engagement. I myself loved the positive energy and networking, we have some really talented women in this city and every one of them should be put on!
To connect more with WIPP check out the podcast WIPP C.R.E.A.M and according to Twitter the next events are in February and May.
Next post I talk about Come Up to My Room an art event held by the Gladstone...
